Love God
With all your passion, prayer, and intelligence. Not a feeling you wait for — a daily practice of knowing who He is.
A family ministry built on one verse and three habits. We write books, teach, and look for people in our community who need a hand this week.
Our vision & mission
Jesus was asked to name the most important thing. He gave an answer with two halves that can't be separated — and it's the whole of what we're trying to do.
With all your passion, prayer, and intelligence. Not a feeling you wait for — a daily practice of knowing who He is.
A meal, a graduation gift, a funeral covered. Love that costs something and shows up at the right moment.
The measure Jesus used for loving your neighbor. Care for your mind, your health, and your calling — then pass it on.
"Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence. This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: Love others as well as you love yourself. These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them."
Matthew 22:37–40 · The Message
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
"He will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." — Matthew 25:31–46, NIV
The bookshelf
Faith, fiction, teaching, statistics, a Christmas play, and a children's story written by the kids. Every cover links to its page on Amazon, where the print and Kindle editions are listed.
Free course
A free six-session course on the scams that arrive wearing somebody you trust — a pastor, a grandchild, your own bank.
Enrollment open · free · about 25 minutes a session
Built for older adults, and for the families, churches and senior centers around them. It assumes nothing about what you already know about computers, and works on any phone with no app to download.
You won’t be asked to become suspicious of everyone — a course that teaches blanket distrust makes your life smaller, not safer. What you get instead is a check that takes fifteen seconds, and the confidence to use it. And nobody has to tell us anything that happened to them; you can finish the whole course without saying a word about your own experience.
Finish all six and pass the twenty-item assessment, and a certificate is issued with your name on it — with the six attacker moves and the J·V·C Check printed on the front, so the thing you keep is the thing that protects you.

Not programs — specific needs, met when they came up. This is what "love others" has looked like in practice.
